The Rotary Ramblin' Rabbit 5K is sponsored by the Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club which has been serving our local, national, and international community since 1983. Rotarians are your friends, neighbors and associates who have made a commitment to service above self in their personal and professional lives.
Proceeds will benefit The Ben Hair Just Swim For Life Program at the new Brooks Family YMCA and the Blue Ridge Mountain Rotary Club Foundation!
The new Brooks Family YMCA opens the summer of 2017 and will be the official home for The Ben Hair Just Swim For Life Program (BH-JSL). The mission of BH-JSL is to raise awareness of the need to teach elementary school children to swim. The program will provide motivation, systems, tools, and instruction to waterproof our community so all children have basic swimming skills to be safe around lakes, rivers, ponds, oceans, and pools.
The Blue Ridge Mountain Rotary Club Foundation exemplifies the core values of club members by funding local non-profit organizations with service priorities towards illiteracy, poverty, malnutrition and the ultimate goal of providing sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact on the community.
The Rotary Ramblin Rabbit 5K will begin and end on the grounds of Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC). The course winds along side of PVCC’s academic buildings and by the softball fields, proceeding to the grounds of Monticello High School and back. Along the way are scenic views and opportunities for spectators to cheer for the race runners.
